In QLD: The Magistrates Court of QLD has made a ruling that says that Gel Blasters are not firearms under the customs import regulations of 1956. Our products have also been tested by the QLD police ballistics division. They were found to not meet the definition of a firearm and so, are classified as toys in QLD. There are no restrictions on ownership or sales.
In NSW: The fact sheet regarding imitation firearms states that “An imitation firearm does not include anything that is produced and identified as a children’s toy”. You can read the fact sheet here: https://www.police.nsw.gov.au/online_services/firearms/permits/firearms_permits/imitation_firearm
In VIC: The Victorian Police have informed us that a Gel Blaster may fall under the definition of an “imitation firearm”. Potential customers will need to consult their local law enforcement officer to determine whether it is legal for them to possess a Gel Blaster.
In TAS: The laws in Tasmania regarding Gel Blasters is unclear. We do not ship to Tasmania at this stage.
In WA: Current information provided to us leads us to believe that Gel Blasters are classified as an imitation firearm in Western Australia. However, no licence or permit is needed. It is recommended that you consult your local law enforcement officer before purchasing.
In SA: Current information provided to us leads us to believe that Gel Blasters are classified as an imitation firearm in South Australia. However, no licence or permit is needed. It is recommended that you consult your local law enforcement officer before purchasing.
In NT: Currently, we are unsure about the laws in the Northern Territory regarding Gel Blasters. It is recommended that you consult your local law enforcement officer before purchasing.
